Preparing Dehradun's future officers
Officers Maritime Academy prepares students for the main entrance routes into the Merchant Navy: the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET), shipping company sponsorship tests for DNS and B.Sc Nautical Science, GP Rating admission tests, and GME entrance exams for mechanical engineers.
imucetcompass.com is our home online. The name says what we want to be for our students: a fixed point to steer by while you work out which route fits you, what you need to qualify, and how to prepare.
Our centre is on the first floor of Capitol Tower at Survey Chowk, in the middle of Dehradun, so it is easy to reach from anywhere in the city and from nearby towns.
How we teach
Teaching follows the exam. Each subject is mapped to the IMU CET syllabus and to the kind of tests shipping companies set, and every topic ends with previous year questions. Mock tests run in the same computer-based format and marking scheme as the real exam, so exam day feels familiar.
Classes are live, with recordings you can go back to when revising. Before the interview stage we run mock interviews, and we walk you through the medical, documents and passport you will need.

What we stand for
Honest advice first
Age limits, marks and eyesight rule some students out of some routes. We check these with you on the first call, before you spend money on coaching.
Preparation beyond the paper
Passing the written test is half the job. We also prepare you for interviews, psychometric tests, the medical and the documents companies ask for.
No false promises
Nobody can guarantee you a ship. We tell you what each route really involves, help you apply to approved institutes and companies, and warn you about agents who sell placements.
